Adani Defence Acquires 85.8% Stake in Air Works for ₹400 Crore: Expands MRO Services in India

Adani Defence & Aerospace, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has announced its acquisition of an 85.8% stake in Air Works, India’s largest private maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company. The deal, valued at ₹400 crore, was formalized through a share purchase agreement (SPA) on December 23, 2024.

Air Works operates across 35 cities, and this acquisition marks Adani’s entry into the MRO sector. Jeet Adani, director of Adani Airports, emphasized that the move is part of the company’s vision to build an integrated aviation services ecosystem, vital for strengthening India’s aviation infrastructure. He noted the significant growth potential in India’s aviation sector, with over 1,500 aircraft expected to be delivered in the coming years.

Ashish Rajvansahi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, outlined the company’s plans to offer comprehensive MRO services, including line, base, component, and engine maintenance, catering to both commercial and defense aviation needs.

Adani Enterprises’ stock closed slightly lower at ₹2,341.95 on December 23, following the announcement made just before the end of the trading session.
