Why Update Your Aadhaar Photo?

Aadhaar card is a crucial document today. It has a 12-digit number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It contains biometric data, name, address, and other details. We use Aadhaar for various purposes like buying a SIM card, opening a bank account, and availing of government schemes.

How to Change Your Aadhaar Photo

If you don’t like the photo on your Aadhaar card, you can change it, but you have to do it offline. Unfortunately, there is no online facility to update your Aadhaar photo. Here’s how you can update your photo:

  1. Visit an Aadhaar Enrollment Center
  • Go to the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center or Aadhaar Service Center.

  • Download the Aadhaar Enrollment Form from the UIDAI website.

  1. Biometric Details and Photo
  • At the center, your biometric details like fingerprint and iris scan will be taken.
  • A new live photo will be taken to replace the old one.
  1. Pay the Fee
  • You will need to pay a fee of ₹100 for the photo update.
  1. Receive a URN
  • You will get a slip with a Unique Request Number (URN) to track the status of your update.

Track Your Aadhaar Update Status

You may have to wait a few days for your photo to be updated. You can use the URN to track the status of your update.

Download Your Updated Aadhaar Card

Once your photo is updated, you can download the updated Aadhaar card from the UIDAI website:
