BMW India has just unveiled the new M2 CS, a hardcore variant of its popular compact performance coupe, priced at ₹1.66 crore (ex-showroom). This fully built import marks the first M2 CS for the country, with only limited units allocated and deliveries starting soon.
Powertrain Upgrades
The M2 CS packs a reworked 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine producing 530hp and 650Nm—50hp and 50Nm more than the standard M2. It pairs exclusively with an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic sending power to the rear wheels, achieving 0-100kmph in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 302kmph.
This power surge enables a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7:25.5 minutes, making it the fastest production compact BMW on the “Green Hell.”
Design Enhancements
Externally, the M2 CS features a revised grille for better airflow, a new front splitter, gold-finished staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (track tires optional), and a prominent ducktail spoiler with a larger diffuser and matte black quad exhausts. It sits 8mm lower than the regular M2 and is 30kg lighter at 1,710kg thanks to carbon-fiber elements like the roof and boot lid.
Available in Black Sapphire, Portimao Blue, Brooklyn Grey, or Velvet Blue, it commands a ₹64 lakh premium over the ₹1.02 crore standard M2.
Interior and Features
Inside, carbon-fiber bucket seats in M-colored Merino leather, Alcantara-wrapped M steering wheel, and carbon trims elevate the cabin. Tech includes a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and parking assistant, blending track focus with daily usability.
Performance Edge
Compared to the standard M2, the CS offers sharper M-tuned suspension, stiffer engine mounts, and weight savings for superior track handling while retaining road refinement. Bookings are open online or at dealerships, targeting enthusiasts seeking ultimate M thrills.
