RCB Captain IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has announced Rajat Patidar as the new captain for IPL 2025. There were speculations that Virat Kohli might take over the captaincy again, but the team decided to hand over the responsibility to Patidar. He joined RCB in 2021 and has been a part of the team since then.

Faf du Plessis Not Retained by RCB

In IPL 2024, South African cricketer Faf du Plessis was the captain of RCB. However, before IPL 2025, the team neither retained him nor bought him in the mega auction. Instead, Delhi Capitals signed du Plessis for ₹2 crore, and he will play for them in IPL 2025.

RCB Retained Only Three Players

Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, RCB retained only three players:

  • Rajat Patidar – ₹11 crore
  • Virat Kohli – ₹21 crore
  • Yash Dayal – ₹5 crore

Fans are excited to see Patidar as the new captain and hope he can lead RCB to their first IPL title. Patidar has performed well as a batsman, but it will be interesting to see how he performs as a captain.

Rajat Patidar’s IPL Career

Rajat Patidar made his IPL debut for RCB in 2021 and has played only for RCB so far. His IPL career stats:

  • Matches Played – 27

  • Runs Scored – 799
  • Batting Average – 34.73
  • Strike Rate – 158.84
