Total 13 days bank holidays in August
According to the information given on the official website of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there are going to be a total of 13 bank holidays in August. In such a situation, if your banking related work is stuck, then before going to the bank, definitely check the bank holiday list. Because the work will remain closed in the banks for the entire 13 days.
Penalty will be imposed for filing ITR
Yesterday i.e. 31st July was the last date for filing ITR. More than seven crore returns have been filed till 7 pm on the last day. If you have not been able to file income tax return by 31st July 2024, then you may have to pay a fine. If you miss filing ITR, the Income Tax Department gives you another chance. You can file belated returns till the end of the year, i.e. till 31 December 2024. However, you may have to pay a penalty on belated returns according to your income. If your income is less than Rs 5 lakh, then the penalty can be up to Rs 1,000 and if your income is more than Rs 5 lakh, then the penalty for filing ITR late can be up to ₹5,000.
Big change in Google Maps
Google Maps is bringing a big change in India. From August 1, the company is reducing its service charge by up to 70% so that more and more partners can join. Along with this, billing will change from dollars to rupees. Common users will not have to pay any new charge, that is, there will be no effect on the daily use of Google Maps.
Extra charge will be levied on HDFC Bank credit card
From August, the rules of HDFC Bank’s credit card are changing. Now you may have to pay extra charge on some expenses. There will be a 1% transaction charge for paying rent using credit card apps like CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik, Freecharge etc. Apart from this, there will be a 1% charge for filling petrol-diesel of more than 5 thousand rupees at a time. At the same time, there will be a 1% charge for paying electricity, water bills of more than 50 thousand rupees. The bank has also increased the charges for late payment and easy EMI. Please note that this extra charge will not exceed Rs 3000 every time.
