Poco M8 Power

Poco has officially disclosed more details about the Poco M8 Power ahead of its India debut, confirming several hardware and software features before the smartphone goes official. The upcoming handset will join the company’s budget lineup with a focus on battery life, software longevity, and everyday performance.

The smartphone is scheduled to launch in India on August 4, and it will be sold exclusively through Flipkart.

Poco M8 Power Design and Colour Variants

The Poco M8 Power will arrive in Black, Blaze Orange, and Green colour options. The device features a flat-frame design with a matte-textured rear panel, while Poco has also confirmed an IP65 certification, offering protection against dust and water splashes.

The handset measures 8.45mm thick, making it relatively slim considering its large battery capacity.

Dual Cameras With AI Features

Poco has confirmed that the M8 Power will include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera using the Light Fusion 400 sensor. The dual-camera setup will be accompanied by AI-powered photography tools designed to improve image quality in different lighting conditions.

Available camera features include:

  • AI Night Mode
  • AI HDR
  • AI Sky Editing
  • AI Portrait Bokeh
  • AI Object Eraser

An 8-megapixel front-facing camera will handle selfies and video calling.

HyperOS 3 and Extended Software Support

The Poco M8 Power will be among the first devices in its segment to ship with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.

Poco has also announced an extended update policy, promising:

  • Four generations of Android OS updates
  • Six years of security patch support

This level of software support is uncommon in the budget smartphone category and could increase the device’s long-term value.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 and Large Battery

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, built using a 4nm process. Poco claims the processor delivers an AnTuTu score of over 630,000, positioning it as a capable performer for daily use and casual gaming.

Other confirmed specifications include:

  • 8GB LPDDR4X RAM
  • UFS 2.2 internal storage
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display protection

Powering the device is a massive 8,000mAh battery, which is expected to provide extended usage without frequent charging.

To manage heat during intensive tasks, Poco has equipped the phone with a vapour chamber cooling system and a 10,416 sq. mm graphite heat dissipation layer.

Poco M8 Power India Launch

Poco will officially unveil the M8 Power in India on August 4 at 12 PM IST. Along with complete specifications, the company is expected to announce pricing and introductory launch offers during the event.

With its combination of a large battery, long-term software support, Snapdragon processor, and AI camera features, the Poco M8 Power is set to strengthen Poco’s presence in the affordable smartphone market.
