The final day at New Delhi’s Thyagaraj Sports Complex saw Ankur Bhattacharjee and Yashaswini Ghorpade emerge as the men’s and women’s singles champions after impressive performances.
Ankur Bhattacharjee Stages Brilliant Comeback
The men’s singles final delivered an exciting contest as Ankur Bhattacharjee faced fellow Indian Payas Jain. After trailing in the match, Ankur displayed remarkable determination to fight back and secure a 4-3 victory.
Payas relied on his aggressive forehand attacks to move within one game of the title, but Ankur responded by improving his service returns and dominating the sixth game. Despite falling behind in the deciding game, he regained control after a timeout and completed a memorable comeback to lift the biggest singles title of his career.

- Ankur Bhattacharjee defeated Payas Jain 11-8, 9-11, 7-11, 11-8, 4-11, 11-4, 11-9.
Yashaswini Ghorpade Outplays Sreeja Akula
In the women’s singles final, Yashaswini Ghorpade produced an excellent performance to defeat top contender Sreeja Akula in five games.
Yashaswini dominated the opening stages with powerful forehand attacks, taking the first two games comfortably. Although Sreeja fought back by winning the third game, Yashaswini maintained her composure to seal the championship.
The victory was especially satisfying after Yashaswini had earlier finished runner-up in the women’s doubles event.

- Yashaswini Ghorpade defeated Sreeja Akula 11-6, 11-1, 8-11, 11-7, 13-11.
Tough Semifinals Before the Final Triumph
Both champions had to overcome difficult semifinal matches earlier in the day.
- Ankur Bhattacharjee defeated Manav Thakkar in five games.
- Payas Jain overcame Manush Shah to reach the final.
- Yashaswini Ghorpade edged past Sutirtha Mukherjee in a thrilling seven-game battle.
