Under the ‘Nayika Program’ run by the Uttar Pradesh government, a student from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pilibhit was made District Magistrate (DM) for a day. After becoming the DM, the student listened to public issues at the DM office in Pilibhit and gave instructions to concerned officers for their resolution.
The one-day DM also inspected the Collectorate compound and appeared very happy during the process. Aparajita Upadhyay, a class 11 student from Kendriya Vidyalaya, was made DM for a day on Tuesday, October 1, as part of the Nayika Program.
Warm Welcome by Officers
The one-day DM was welcomed by officials with a bouquet of flowers. Aparajita Upadhyay sat in the District Magistrate’s office and listened to complaints from people who had come from faraway places, issuing directions to officers over the phone.
Public Hearing by the One-Day DM
During the public hearing, a complaint from Bisalpur area was brought before Aparajita. A farmer complained that the electricity department had wrongly installed a pole on his field, causing problems. In response, the one-day DM immediately called the Executive Engineer of the Bisalpur electricity department and ordered the issue to be resolved quickly.
