Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party and former Chief Minister of Delhi, shifted to his new house on Firoz Shah Road in New Delhi’s Lutyens Zone with his family today (October 4). He has now vacated the official CM residence located at Civil Lines on Flag Road in Delhi.
After resigning from the CM post on June 17, Kejriwal had promised to vacate the CM residence soon. True to his word, he vacated the house after the end of the Pitru Paksha (a Hindu ritual period for ancestors).
The Aam Aadmi Party made an announcement on X, stating that Kejriwal has left the CM residence. They mentioned that he will not return to the official CM residence until the public re-elects him as the Chief Minister, affirming his honesty.
Where Arvind Kejriwal Will Live Now
After vacating the Delhi CM residence, Kejriwal has moved to a government house on Firoz Shah Road, which belongs to Ashok Mittal, a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab. His new residence is just a few meters away from the Aam Aadmi Party’s headquarters on Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane.

Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj mentioned on October 3, 2024, that Kejriwal had announced after resigning that he would vacate the CM residence after the Shradh period. Many AAP members, including ministers, MLAs, and supporters, had offered him a place to stay. Kejriwal decided to live in his own constituency, New Delhi, where he contests assembly elections.
A party MP had also offered his house to Kejriwal. Now, Kejriwal and his family will be staying at MP Ashok Mittal’s house on Firoz Shah Road until he wins the elections and becomes Chief Minister again.
