A tragic accident occurred in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district when a bus carrying wedding guests fell into a 200-foot deep gorge. Three people died on the spot, and 10 others were seriously injured. The bus was traveling from Haridwar’s Lal Dhang to the village of Bironkhal in Pauri. Upon hearing about the incident, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri rushed to the scene but faced anger from the locals.
The accident happened around 8:00 PM near Simandi village when the driver lost control of the bus, causing it to fall straight into the deep gorge. There were 15 people on board, including the driver, all heading to Bironkhal from Haridwar. The bus tumbled down the gorge before coming to a stop.
Accident Happened 2 Kilometers From the Bride’s Home
It is said that the accident took place just 2 kilometers from the bride’s home, causing chaos in the area. The passengers cried for help, and locals quickly gathered at the scene to assist.

Upon receiving the news, local police and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) teams arrived and started a rescue operation. Police from nearby stations were also called to help. Despite the darkness, rescue work was carried out using torches and mobile phone lights. One by one, the passengers were pulled out.
The injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance, where they are receiving treatment. The police have taken the bodies for postmortem. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri visited the injured but faced the anger of locals and later left. The police are now handling the legal procedures after the incident.
