The Delhi Congress President, Devendra Yadav, has spoken about the party’s poor performance in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, where they failed to win even a single seat. He said that despite the hard work of Congress workers, the party could not secure votes from Dalit and minority communities, which directly benefited the BJP.
Yadav accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of spreading confusion among voters, leading to Congress’ defeat. However, he praised the dedication of Congress candidates and workers who worked tirelessly on the ground.
Loss of Dalit and Minority Votes
Yadav mentioned that Dalit and minority voters have always felt uneasy with BJP’s politics. But this time, they were influenced by AAP’s campaign and did not vote for Congress. He added that AAP created a perception that it was the only party forming the government, which diverted anti-BJP votes away from Congress.
Yadav admitted that this is a challenge for Congress, and the party needs a strong strategy for the future.
Congress’ Commitment to Social Justice
Yadav emphasized that Congress has always fought for the rights of Dalits, backward classes, and minorities. Despite securing only 6.5% of the vote share, he appreciated the efforts of Congress workers and candidates. He assured that the party would continue to raise public issues and stay committed to its ideology.
Criticism of BJP
Devendra Yadav thanked the people of Delhi and promised that Congress would keep fighting for the rights of the poor, marginalized, and weaker sections.
He criticized the BJP for not fulfilling its promises after coming to power. According to him, people have now started to understand BJP’s political tactics.
Focus on the Future
Yadav said that Congress’ primary goal is not just to gain power but to work for the welfare of the people and the country’s progress. He assured that the party would strengthen its connection with the public and work on new strategies to regain their trust.
