Farmers Protest Row: The farmers’ protest at Shambhu Border has completed 200 days on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Farmers are still gathered there, demanding various rights. Wrestler Vinesh Phogat visited the protest site in the morning, where the farmers honored her. Speaking to journalists, Vinesh said that while she doesn’t know much about politics, she understands the importance of farmers. She mentioned that she has worked in the fields before.

Vinesh Phogat said, “People protest because they are forced to. When a protest goes on for a long time, it gives people hope. If our people have to sit on the streets, how will the country progress? I believe that we should come out on the streets for our rights.”

Farmers Have Been Protesting Since February 13

The farmers have been protesting at Shambhu Border since February 13, demanding legal guarantees for MSP (Minimum Support Price) on all crops, along with other important demands. Although the police stopped their march to Delhi, reports suggest that large numbers of farmers are soon going to gather at the Khanauri, Shambhu, and Ratanpura borders.

Farmer Leaders Say PM Is Not Responding

Farmer leader Baldev Singh Bagga from Amritsar district said that many attempts have been made to communicate with the government, but no response has been received. Several letters have been sent to Prime Minister Modi, but there has been no reply. The government is trying to silence the farmers’ voices. Sarwan Singh Pandher, the coordinator of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, has urged farmers to gather in large numbers at Shambhu and Khanauri points on August 31.

Farmers Demand Action Against Kangana Ranaut

The farmers have also demanded strict action against Bollywood actress and MP Kangana Ranaut. They have urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take a strong stand against Kangana, whose previous comments have angered the farming community.
