Change in Opening Match Rule
Usually, the first match of an IPL season is played between the two finalists of the previous season. However, this time, the rule has changed. In IPL 2024, the final match was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. But in IPL 2025, the opening match will be between KKR and RCB instead of a rematch of the previous season’s final.
