A 13-year-old student’s suspected suicide at a private school hostel in Katihar has shocked the area. The incident occurred on Friday in a private school hostel under Mansahi police station’s area. According to school manager Kamal Kumar, the student took his own life by hanging himself inside the hostel premises.
The deceased student has been identified as the 13-year-old son of Vishnu Kumar Mandal from Dilarpur Panchayat, ward number 8, Manihari police station area. The student’s family and the local police were informed about the incident. The family, now at the scene, is furious and has accused the school management of negligence, claiming it was a murder, not a suicide.

Family Makes Serious Accusations
The father, Vishnu Mandal, claimed that his son, who was studying at the hostel of the private school “The Horizon,” was beaten and murdered by the school management. He believes the school is trying to cover up the murder by presenting it as a suicide, but he insists this is not true.
Police Statement on the Incident
The police arrived at the scene after being notified. Mansahi police station officer-in-charge Alok Rai stated that, based on the initial investigation, it appears to be a case of suicide. However, the body has been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem to confirm whether it was a murder or a suicide. So far, the family has not submitted any written complaint, but further action will be taken once the complaint is filed. The police are investigating all aspects of the case.
