In the case of the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, the accused, Sanjay Roy, has claimed he is innocent and is being framed. According to a report by the Times of India, Sanjay’s lawyer, Kavita Sarkar, said that during his polygraph test, Sanjay maintained his innocence. He also stated that he is not the one who killed the female doctor. Sanjay said that when he saw her body covered in blood, he got scared and ran away.
During the polygraph test, Sanjay was asked 10 questions, including what he did after the woman was killed. He told CBI officers that the question was wrong because he did not kill the trainee doctor.
Sanjay Roy Claims He Ran Away in Fear After Seeing Blood
In his polygraph test, Sanjay claimed that when he entered the seminar hall of the hospital, the woman was unconscious. Sanjay said that on August 9, he saw the woman covered in blood in the seminar hall. According to the newspaper, Sanjay Roy claimed that he panicked and ran out of the room after seeing the doctor covered in blood.

Why Didn’t Sanjay Inform the Police About the Victim’s Death?
In a conversation with the newspaper, Sanjay Roy’s lawyer stated, “If entering that room was so easy for anyone, it’s possible that someone else besides Sanjay could have been there.” Sanjay Roy also claimed that he did not know the victim and that he was being framed. When asked why he didn’t inform the police if he was innocent, Sanjay said he feared no one would believe him.
Last month, a trainee doctor was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. The post-mortem report revealed signs of sexual assault and 25 external and internal injuries on her body. Based on initial evidence, Sanjay Roy was arrested as the suspect.
