West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written another letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding a recent rape and murder case in Kolkata. In her letter, she stated, “I have not received a response to my letter dated August 22, 2024, about the need for strict central laws and exemplary punishment for rapists.”

Mamata Banerjee mentioned that despite the sensitivity of the issue, she received no reply from the Prime Minister. Instead, she got a general response from the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, which did not address the seriousness of the matter.
