Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting solar power and sustainable progress. The project, with an investment exceeding ₹ 75,000 crore, is set to illuminate one crore households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity each month.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of its citizens. He highlighted the significant investment behind the scheme and outlined its key features, including substantive subsidies directly deposited into people’s bank accounts and heavily concessional bank loans.

To streamline the process and ensure maximum participation, all stakeholders will be integrated into a National Online Portal, as announced by the Prime Minister. Additionally, local bodies and panchayats will be incentivized to promote rooftop solar systems in their respective areas, furthering the reach and impact of the initiative.

Prime Minister Modi underscored the multiple benefits of the scheme, including increased income, reduced power bills, and job creation opportunities. He urged all residential consumers, particularly the youth, to support the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana by applying through the dedicated portal at [pmsuryaghar.gov.in](https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in).

With this ambitious initiative, the government aims to not only provide access to clean and affordable energy but also to foster a culture of sustainability and progress across the nation.
