First Vande Bharat Sleeper to Reach Chennai from Bengaluru on September 20
Indian Railways first introduced the Vande Bharat chair car. After its success, they announced the launch of Vande Metro. Now, the Vande Bharat Sleeper will be the third train in this series. According to Y. Subba Rao, GM of the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai, the first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will depart from Bharat Earth Movers Limited’s Bengaluru plant on September 20 and reach Chennai. After that, final testing will be completed within about 20 days. The train will then undergo high-speed testing for about two months and will be ready to run by December.
Speed of 160 km/h, LED Lights on the Floor
Sources say that this train will be similar to the ones in Europe. It will have LED lights on the floor so that passengers can easily find their way to the toilet at night. The train will run at a speed of 160 km/h and will have 823 berths. It will include 11 coaches of 3AC (611 seats), 4 coaches of 2AC (188 seats), and one coach of 1AC (24 seats). BHEL-Titagarh will manufacture 80 more trains, and Rail Vikas Nigam will make 120 more trains for the Railways.
Modern Amenities Like Reading Light, Charging Socket, Mobile Holder, and Snack Table
According to reports, each berth in the train will be equipped with modern amenities like a reading light, charging socket, mobile holder, and snack table. Learning from past experiences, Indian Railways has made the Vande Bharat Sleeper even better. The train will be quieter, and in case of an animal collision, there will be less damage. It will also have an anti-collision system, a modern pantry, and better fire safety measures. The train will be convenient for differently-abled passengers and will include a public announcement system and luggage room.
