Vivo X Fold 6

Vivo has unveiled its latest premium foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 6, in China. The new device arrives with several major upgrades, including a powerful MediaTek chipset, a massive 7,000mAh battery, flagship-grade cameras, and enhanced multitasking features. With these improvements, Vivo is positioning the X Fold 6 as a strong competitor in the premium foldable smartphone market.

Large Foldable Display With Durable Hinge

The Vivo X Fold 6 features a spacious 8.02-inch OLED inner display that delivers up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. Vivo says the display uses Samsung’s advanced M14 luminescent material for improved brightness and efficiency.

The outer display is protected by upgraded nanocrystal glass, while the redesigned hinge has been tested to withstand up to 600,000 folds, promising long-term durability. The smartphone also carries an IP58/IP59 rating, offering protection against dust and water exposure.

MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition Powers the Device

Powering the foldable is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, a customized processor developed specifically for large-screen foldable smartphones. Vivo claims the chipset delivers smoother multitasking, improved split-screen performance, and better efficiency when running multiple applications simultaneously.

200MP Flagship Camera System

Photography is one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo X Fold 6. The smartphone features a 200-megapixel primary camera using Samsung’s Isocell HPB sensor. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom.

A notable addition is support for Vivo’s second-generation 200mm telephoto lens accessory. When attached, the accessory extends the zoom capability to 8.3x optical-equivalent and enables lossless 17x zoom, making the foldable suitable for long-distance photography.

For videography, the X Fold 6 supports 4K recording at 60fps with Dolby Vision, along with several cinematic shooting modes and AI-powered photography tools.

Massive 7,000mAh Battery

Vivo has equipped the X Fold 6 with a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, making it one of the largest batteries ever seen in a foldable smartphone. The phone also supports wireless charging, although the company has not yet revealed the maximum charging speed.

Improved Multitasking With AI Features

Running OriginOS, the X Fold 6 introduces an upgraded version of Vivo’s Origin Workbench. Users can work with multiple apps in floating windows, customize split-screen layouts, and save frequently used workspace arrangements for quick access.

The software also integrates several AI-powered productivity tools, including smart file organization, automatic file renaming, and intelligent document suggestions for meetings and daily tasks.
