Preparations are underway to build a Bihari Ji Temple Corridor in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. However, this plan is facing strong opposition. People are worried that the construction of the corridor could threaten their lives and livelihoods. After losing the Faizabad seat in the June 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Yogi government is being very cautious in its approach. When BJP’s Lallu Singh lost the Faizabad seat, it was said that the public’s dissatisfaction with the destruction caused by development projects in Ayodhya and its surroundings influenced the election results.
The Samajwadi Party also raised the issue of the damage caused during the construction of the Ram Path and other projects in Ayodhya, claiming that proper compensation was not provided. Now, regarding the Bihari Ji Temple Corridor in Mathura, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a significant announcement. During his visit to Mathura on Monday, CM Yogi reviewed the development projects and instructed officials that no one should be displaced during the construction of the corridor.
Is Corridor Work Starting Soon?
This was the first time the Chief Minister commented on the construction of the corridor. He stated that all parties involved should be communicated with and reassured that no one will be displaced. He also emphasized that a strong plan should be made for the rehabilitation of those affected after discussions with them. Following the CM’s instructions, it is believed that the government may soon start work on the Bihari Ji Corridor.
It is worth noting that the government wants to build the corridor to manage the chaos at the Banke Bihari Temple. The construction of the corridor is expected to cost around 250 crores.
