Kavach Anti-Collision System: Indian Railways has introduced the first glimpse of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, impressing everyone with its modern features. On Sunday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the first Vande Bharat Sleeper. He announced that this train will soon be dedicated to serving the people of India. He also mentioned that Indian Railways is now equipping the entire railway network with the ‘Kavach’ safety system to prevent accidents. Work on this is being done in mission mode. The goal is to bring the number of accidents down to zero.
Ashwini Vaishnaw’s Goal – Accident-Free Railways
The Railway Minister explained that the Kavach system has been developed in India itself. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given clear instructions in this direction. The goal is to make railways accident-free. Alongside Vande Bharat trains, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has been launched to modernize hundreds of stations across the country. The Vande Bharat Express has already provided modern and fast services to people in different corners of the country. The Vande Bharat Sleeper will further this effort by making long-distance journeys faster.

Making Travel Safe, Fast, and Modern with Technology
Ashwini Vaishnaw mentioned that Indian Railways did not receive much investment for decades, but now special attention is being given to it. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the funding for Indian Railways has increased tenfold. The mindset of the railway system has changed, and they are continuously working to make travel safer, faster, and more modern with the help of technology. He also mentioned that the trial for Vande Metro will begin soon.
World’s Largest Redevelopment Project
The Railway Minister said that 1,326 railway stations across the country are being modernized, making it the world’s largest redevelopment project. Now, the Kavach system has become a priority. With Kavach, trains can automatically apply brakes when the speed limit is exceeded, and it also ensures safe travel during adverse weather conditions. After several recent accidents, there has been an increased demand to install this system across the entire railway network. Vaishnaw also shared that India has laid 31,180 kilometers of new railway tracks, which is more than the total railway tracks in France. They are constructing 14 kilometers of railway tracks every day and have also dedicated the Amrit Bharat Train to the nation.
