Coaching center accident: Five more people including basement owner arrested; Seven arrests so far in the death of three students

Rajendra Nagar police station of Central District has arrested five more people in connection with the accident at Rao IAS Study Centre, which also includes the car driver who drove the car at high speed off the road during the rain due to which the gate of the coaching center was hit. Apart from this, the owner of the basement has also been arrested by the police.

With the arrest of these people, the total number of people arrested in the case has increased to seven. Police say that we are committed to ensure strict action against all those involved in the case.

Rajendra Nagar case: Two accused sent to judicial custody for 14 days
Earlier, in the case of death of students due to water logging in UPSC Coaching Center located in Old Rajendra Nagar on Sunday, the court has sent both the accused to judicial custody for 14 days. After registering the case, the police arrested Rao IAS Coaching owner Abhishek Gupta and coordinator Deshpal Singh.

Both the accused in the Delhi Police Coaching Center accident were presented in the court from Rajendra Nagar police station after their arrest. The police have registered a case against these two accused including building management, corporation workers looking after the drainage system and others under sections including culpable homicide.

DCP Central M. Harshvardhan said, ‘Five more people, including the owners of the basement and a person who drove a vehicle, have been arrested. Due to which the gate of the building was damaged. There was no permission to conduct commercial activity in the basement. We have sought some information from the MCD and we will also investigate their role. We appeal to the protesting students to maintain peace and not create jams.

According to Delhi Police, the driver arrested by Delhi Police in the Old Rajendra Nagar case has been found guilty of negligence. He was driving the car very fast, due to which the gate of the coaching center broke. Before it hit the gate of the building, a street vendor tried to stop it.
