These days when there is a possibility of electrocution using a cooler or air conditioner at home, know what to do in this situation and how to save others from electrocution here.

It is common for electrical gadgets to get electrocuted during the rainy season. Also, especially if you are using a cooler, there is often a problem of electricity in monsoons. So if you also have a cooler in your home and have elderly parents and small children at home, then you must know the tips to avoid electric shock in the cooler.

With these tips to prevent electric shock in coolers, you can keep children and the elderly at home safe. You will also be able to use a safe cooler properly. So let’s know how to prevent the current from getting in the cooler.

Why does the cooler feel current? : There are five main causes of current in the cooler, including lack of earthing, faulty electrical connection, motor problem, switch fault and leakage in the water tank. If these five things are taken care of, current problems can be avoided and major accidents can be avoided. Find out what to do here

Fix Earthing : Make sure your cooler is properly grounded. Connect the grounding wire to the body of the cooler and then connect it to the grounding rod or grounding screw of the electrical panel. If you can’t find the grounding wire, call an electrician.

Check the power connection: Check the power connection of the cooler i.e. check if there is any damage in the wire or if the wire is loose, if it is loose then fit it properly or replace the wire if necessary.

Fix the motor: A faulty cooler motor can also cause electric current. If you think the motor is faulty, replace the motor. Another thing, you should never pour water into the cooler after switching it on, doing so can be dangerous.

Water tank repair : Sometimes, leakage in the water tank can also lead to current in the cooler. Check if there is any leakage in the water tank and fix it if there is any leakage.

Replace the switch: A faulty switch in the cooler can also cause electric shock. If you think the switch is faulty, replace it. If you are unable to fix the electrical current problem in the cooler after taking these safety measures, contact an electrician immediately.

Also never touch the cooler with wet hands. Keep the cooler away from water. If you are cleaning the cooler, unplug it first and keep children away from the cooler.
