In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, a major robbery at a jeweler’s showroom caused a stir in the city. On Sunday, August 1st, around 1:30 PM, five armed robbers attacked the Balaji Jewelers showroom located at the busy Ranipur Mod area. The robbers stole jewelry worth approximately ₹5 crores and fled the scene.
The day after the robbery, Uttarakhand’s Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Abhinav Kumar, visited the crime scene and instructed the Haridwar police to solve the case as soon as possible.

DIG’s Statement
The DIG mentioned that the robbers were likely from outside the state, as most of them did not cover their faces. He, along with other officials, inspected the showroom and spoke to local business owners. He assured them that the case would be solved quickly. The police are using multiple teams and scientific methods to investigate the robbery. The DIG expressed confidence that the criminals would be caught soon.
Widespread Panic After the Robbery
The robbery at Balaji Jewelers in the Ranipur Mod area of Haridwar caused panic throughout the region. The robbers entered the shop, sprayed chili powder on the people inside, and started firing. Using guns, they threatened everyone and looted the jewelry. The robbers wore masks to hide their identities and escape easily. Recently, such criminal activities have increased in Uttarakhand, with fearless criminals carrying out robberies with ease.
