On the occasion of Independence Day 2024, the central government has announced the names of police officers who will be honored with bravery and service medals. 21 police officers from Gujarat will receive the President’s Medal for their commendable service.
Two officers, DSP Balvantsinh Chavda and PSI Bharat Kumar Borana, will be awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Additionally, Ashok Kumar Muniya, Rajendrasinh Chudasama, and Sajjansinh Parmar will also be honored with police medals.
Other officers who will receive the police medal for their commendable service include Ashok Kumar Muniya, Rajendrasinh Chudasama, Sajjansinh Parmar, Bipin Thaker, Dinesh Chaudhary, Niravsinh, Krishna Kumar Singh Gohil, Jugalkumar Purohit, Karansinh Panth, Ashwin Kumar Shrimali, and Vijay Kumar Patel.
On August 15, the country will celebrate its 78th Independence Day. One day before, on Wednesday, the government announced the names of the officers who will receive the President’s Medal. This year, a total of 1,037 personnel from the police, fire, home guards, civil defense, and correctional services will be awarded bravery and service medals.
The government awards the President’s Medal for bravery each year to those who show courage in saving lives, protecting property, preventing crimes, or arresting criminals.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has released the names of the medal recipients. From Uttar Pradesh, ADG Suvendra Kumar Bhagal, DIG Kalpana Saxena, Inspector Sugandha Upadhyay, and SI Ramveer Singh will be awarded the President’s Medal.
