The Indian Hockey team returned to India after winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. The team’s goalkeeper, P.R. Sreejesh, received a grand welcome at Delhi Airport. A large crowd gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse of the players who brought home the bronze medal. Fans greeted the Indian hockey players with drum beats and cheers. Earlier, on Saturday, the first group of the Indian men’s hockey team arrived at the New Delhi Airport. The remaining players, who stayed back for the closing ceremony of the Summer Games 2024, arrived on Tuesday. Along with the hockey team, 21-year-old wrestler Aman Sehrawat, who also won a bronze medal, returned to India.
The Indian Hockey team had performed exceptionally well at the Paris Olympics, but they lost to Germany in the semi-finals with a score of 2-3. After that, India secured the bronze medal by defeating Spain. Earlier, India had ended a 40-year medal drought in hockey by winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, defeating Germany. At the Paris Olympics, India won a total of six medals. In comparison, India had won seven medals at the previous Tokyo Olympics. Unfortunately, this time, India did not win any medals in badminton.

Neeraj Chopra’s Return Delayed Due to Medical Consultation in Germany
On the other hand, star Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, has left for Germany to consult a doctor regarding possible surgery and to decide on his participation in upcoming Diamond League competitions. A family source informed PTI that he has left for Germany and is unlikely to return to India for at least a month.
Sources from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in Paris also confirmed that Neeraj has left for Germany. A family source mentioned that “Chopra has left for Germany and will not return to India for the next one and a half months.” The source added, “I don’t have much information, but he will definitely consult a doctor there (in Germany).”
