The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan from February 19 to March 9. This tournament marks the return of the Champions Trophy after a long gap. However, whether Team India will participate and travel to Pakistan for the tournament remains uncertain. Amidst this, former Pakistani cricketer Rashid Latif has made a bold claim that there is a 50% chance that India will participate in the tournament in Pakistan.

Rashid Latif made this claim after Jay Shah became the ICC Chairman, mentioning that Pakistan also supported Jay Shah’s appointment.

On his YouTube channel, Rashid Latif said, “If Jay Shah has been elected unopposed, it means that the Pakistan Cricket Board has also supported him.” He added, “There is now a 50% chance that Team India will come to Pakistan.”

He further praised Jay Shah’s work, stating that his efforts have been beneficial, whether for BCCI or ICC. Jay Shah will officially take charge as ICC Chairman on December 1.

Will India Really Tour Pakistan?

Various media reports suggest that Team India is not keen on touring Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Some reports also mention the possibility of a hybrid model, where India’s matches could be played at a neutral venue. However, no official decision has been made yet. It will be interesting to see what the final decision is. Notably, the last time Team India toured Pakistan was in 2008 for the Asia Cup.
