The Congress party has announced that it will not participate in exit poll debates, with less than a day to go before the exit polls for the Lok Sabha elections are released. According to senior Congress leader Pawan Khera, the party has decided to boycott these debates because they believe that voters have already cast their votes and the results will be out on June 4.

Khera stated on social media platform X that the party does not see any reason to engage in speculation and slugfest for TRP before the results are announced. He added that the purpose of any debate should be to inform the people, and the Congress will happily participate in debates from June 4 onwards.

As voting in the last phase of Lok Sabha polls 2024 comes to a close on Saturday, all eyes will be on the exit polls, which will provide an indication of how India voted in the 18th general elections. The exit poll results will start coming in after 6 pm on June 1, and the counting of votes and result declaration will take place on June 4.

Exit polls are conducted by various organizations, often in tie-ups with media organizations, and are based on interviews with voters right after they exit the polling stations, as well as other calculations related to voter data. Many Indians give the same importance to exit polls as they do to the actual results.
