Paris Paralympics 2024: PM Modi Congratulates Indian Athletes for Winning Medals, See What He Said

India’s journey in the Paris Paralympics 2024 has been impressive so far. Indian athletes have won a total of 15 medals, including 3 gold, 5 silver, and 7 bronze. On the fifth day alone, Indian athletes won 8 medals, including a gold. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the athletes who made the country proud.

For Sumit, who won the gold medal in Men’s Javelin F64, PM Modi wrote on X, “Sumit’s exceptional performance! Congratulations to him for winning the gold in the Men’s Javelin F64 event! He has shown remarkable consistency and excellence. Best wishes for his future endeavors.”

Regarding the archery duo of Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar, who won the bronze medal in the Mixed Team Compound Open event, PM Modi wrote, “A victory of teamwork! Congratulations to Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar for winning the bronze medal in the Mixed Team Compound Archery event. They have shown remarkable skill and determination. India is proud of this achievement.”

For Suhas Yathiraj, who won the silver in badminton, PM Modi said, “Suhas Yathiraj’s prestigious silver medal win in the Men’s Singles SL4 Badminton event at Paralympics 2024 is a remarkable achievement! India is delighted with his success. We are proud of his perseverance and dedication to the sport.”

Indian Athletes Close to Breaking Tokyo Paralympics Record

In the previous Tokyo Paralympics, India won a total of 19 medals, including 5 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze. In the Paris Paralympics, India has already won 15 medals. Indian athletes are now close to breaking the record set in Tokyo. It will be interesting to see when the Tokyo Paralympics record is surpassed.
