Selling Kidneys to the Rich
Media reports have revealed that several people in Myanmar have recently offered to sell their kidneys on a Facebook group. The report mentions that three people from Myanmar posted about selling their organs and even spoke to around two dozen people involved in the organ trade. These individuals are said to be buyers and agents who connect kidney donors with those in need.
Facebook Takes Action
In response to this situation, Facebook has taken the group down where these organ sale offers were being made. Facebook stated that its platform does not allow content involving the buying or selling of human organs. The company has labeled this as a violation of its rules and has promised to take strict action.
A Big Revelation
It has been revealed that in this online organ trade group, sellers are working together with intermediaries. These intermediaries are very active in the process. Their job is to connect donors with recipients, handle the necessary paperwork, and arrange for the surgery.
