The Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 results have created concern for the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faced a significant defeat, and after 27 years, the BJP is set to form the government in Delhi. Following this loss, TMC MP Saugata Roy has made a strong statement.
TMC’s Appeal for Unity
Saugata Roy emphasized that the parties in the INDIA alliance must fight together; otherwise, more defeats like Delhi will follow. In this election, AAP and Congress contested separately, which many believe weakened the opposition.
Roy said, “People voted against AAP. Our party supported them, but honestly, there were complaints against AAP. The liquor scam impacted their image. BJP tried hard and won. Now, they will become even more aggressive with their agenda. If INDIA parties unite, there’s a chance to win. Otherwise, the result will be like Delhi.”
He further added, “In Bengal, only TMC exists. Bengal is different from Delhi. In every street and neighborhood of Bengal, TMC is strong, and we will win.”
NCP Leader’s Statement
NCP (Sharad Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar also expressed disappointment. He said the INDIA alliance failed to set aside their egos, allowing BJP to win the Delhi elections.
Pawar mentioned on social media that in over 15 seats, BJP’s victory margin was less than the votes received by the third-position candidate. He argued that if the INDIA alliance had united, BJP would not have won more than 20 seats.
The message from both TMC and NCP leaders is clear: unity among opposition parties is crucial to counter BJP’s growing dominance.
