Vladimir Putin Sends a Special Gift to Donald Trump During Peace Talks

As Russia-Ukraine peace talks continue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a gift to former U.S. President Donald Trump. The Kremlin confirmed on Monday, March 24, that Putin gifted Trump a portrait of himself.

What Did the Russian President’s Spokesperson Say?

Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s spokesperson, stated,
“Earlier this month, President Donald Trump’s portrait was given to his special envoy, Steve Witkoff.”

What Did the U.S. Envoy Say About Putin’s Gift?

According to the Associated Press, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff spoke about the gift in an interview with Tucker Carlson last week.

He mentioned that Donald Trump was deeply impressed by the portrait and called it beautiful.

Steve Witkoff’s Meetings with Putin

Steve Witkoff has met Putin multiple times while discussing ways to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

During ongoing talks in Riyadh on March 24, U.S. and Russian officials discussed potential peace agreements.

Witkoff also recalled a conversation where Putin told him that he prayed for Trump after learning about the assassination attempt on him in Pennsylvania during his campaign.

He said,
“President Putin was praying for his American counterpart, Donald Trump.”

This gift from Putin to Trump has gained attention, especially at a time when the two countries are engaged in peace negotiations.
