Will Sakshi Malik Enter Politics? Big Statement After Vinesh Phogat Joins Congress

On Friday (September 6), wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia entered Haryana’s political scene, possibly running for elections on a Congress ticket. Meanwhile, their colleague Sakshi Malik has stated that she will not be running for elections or joining any political party.

Top wrestler Sakshi Malik said, “My entire focus right now is on making India number 1 in sports. My dream is for our country to win at least 50 Olympic medals. This country has given me so much, and I want to dedicate my life to the nation.”

She added, “I will work on providing free sports training to children across the country and bringing wrestling to every home. I will also work to ensure good sports facilities in every city. Vinesh and Bajrang’s decision to enter politics is their personal choice. I wish them the best.”

What Did Vinesh Phogat Say?

Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party on Friday. They first met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and then joined the party at a press conference at the party headquarters. They were joined by Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal, Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria, Haryana Congress President Suraj Bhan, and other leaders.

After joining Congress, Phogat said, “In tough times, you find out who your true friends are. When we were dragged on the streets, all opposition parties, except the BJP, supported us.” She added that their fight continues and will continue.
