Asaram Bapu, who is serving a life sentence for raping a minor girl, has been allowed by the Rajasthan High Court to receive Ayurvedic treatment. He has been granted seven days of medical parole to get treated at an Ayurvedic hospital in Pune. During this time, Asaram Bapu will be under tight security while being treated for a heart condition in a private cottage at the hospital.

Asaram Bapu, aged 83, has been suffering from a heart disease for some time. He will remain in police custody while receiving treatment. The decision was made by a bench of Justices PS Bhati and Munnari Lakshman. Earlier, Pune police had expressed concerns that keeping him in a local hospital could lead to law and order issues. After considering this, the court granted permission for his treatment in Pune.

Asaram Bapu, who was arrested in September 2013, will undergo a seven-day treatment at Madhavbaug Hospital in Pune. He was flown to Mumbai via an Indigo flight, accompanied by Jodhpur police officers and other officials.

On August 13, the High Court allowed Asaram to receive treatment in an Ayurvedic hospital in Maharashtra for seven days under police custody. Several conditions were imposed, including the presence of four police officers and permission to have two attendants with him. Asaram will bear the cost of treatment, transportation, and police assistance. Earlier, both the High Court and the Supreme Court had rejected his plea to suspend his sentence on health grounds.
