Delhi Assembly Elections 2025:
The Delhi Police filed a case against Chief Minister Atishi over a disturbance that happened in Govindpuri last night. The case was registered under Section 188 of the BNS Act, accusing Atishi of violating the election code of conduct.
Case Against Atishi’s Supporters
The police also filed a separate case against Atishi’s supporters. They are accused of misbehaving with police officers on duty and blocking the way of Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew while pretending to be election commission officials.
Interestingly, the police have also recorded a “Kalendra” (formal complaint) against Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew.
Atishi’s Reaction
After the case was filed, CM Atishi expressed her frustration on social media, stating, “The Election Commission is unbelievable. Despite BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri’s family openly violating the election code, no action has been taken. When I complained and called the police and the Election Commission, they registered a case against me instead. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, how far will you go to ruin the election process?”
Kejriwal Slams Police and Election Commission
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal also criticized the incident on social media. He said, “Open hooliganism is happening. When we complain, instead of action against the culprits, a case is filed against the Delhi CM.”
Kejriwal further added, “It has now become the official stance of the Delhi Police and Election Commission to protect BJP hooliganism, distribute alcohol, money, and goods. If anyone tries to stop them, they will be charged with obstructing their work.”
This controversy has added tension to the already heated Delhi Assembly elections.
