On Sunday, March 30, 2025, Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended a cooperative department event in Patna. During his speech, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed regret over his past decisions to leave the NDA alliance twice. He admitted, “I made a mistake twice, but it won’t happen again.”
JDU Leader KC Tyagi’s Reaction
KC Tyagi, a senior JDU leader, responded to Nitish Kumar’s statement by saying, “The situation is now clear after Amit Shah’s visit and Nitish Kumar’s remarks.” He confirmed that the JDU will remain a part of the NDA in the future. Tyagi added that Nitish Kumar will lead the party in the next election and become Chief Minister again after the polls.
BJP Leader’s Response
Praveen Khandelwal, a BJP MP from Delhi, also commented on Nitish Kumar’s statement. He said, “Nitish Kumar has made it clear multiple times, and there is no doubt about it.” He criticized those who are spreading confusion about the BJP-JDU alliance, saying they have lost their political ground in Bihar. Khandelwal congratulated Nitish Kumar for ending speculations created by opposition parties. He confidently stated, “NDA will form the government in Bihar once again, and there is no doubt about it.”
What Did Nitish Kumar Say?
During the event, Nitish Kumar openly admitted his mistakes, saying, “I made a mistake twice, but it won’t happen again. How can I forget that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee made me the Chief Minister?”
He also talked about Bihar’s past problems, stating that:
- People were afraid to go out after sunset.
- Hindu-Muslim clashes were common.
- Education and healthcare were in terrible condition.
Nitish Kumar emphasized that Bihar’s development is now progressing with support from the central government.
This public acknowledgment by Nitish Kumar has cleared the air about the JDU-BJP alliance in Bihar and put an end to opposition rumors. The NDA alliance in Bihar now seems stronger than ever.
