After Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ramjilal Suman’s remarks, now SP National General Secretary Indrajeet Saroj has made a controversial statement about Hindu gods, goddesses, and temples. His comments have triggered sharp political reactions.
What Did Indrajeet Saroj Say?
During a speech, Saroj questioned the power of Hindu gods during the time when Muslim invaders attacked India. He said,
“When Muslim invaders came to loot the country, what were our gods and goddesses doing? They should have cursed the invaders. If they were so powerful, the invaders would have gone blind, burnt, or become handicapped.”
He mentioned invaders like Mohammad bin Tughlaq, Mahmud of Ghazni, and Mohammad Ghori and questioned why gods did not protect the temples from them.
“If Mahmud of Ghazni looted the Somnath temple 17 times, why didn’t the gods curse him? This means there was something lacking in our gods,” Saroj claimed.
“Our Gods Are Ambedkar and Leaders of the PDA”
Indrajeet Saroj went further, saying,
“Our gods are people like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The people of PDA (Pichda-Dalit-Alpsankhyak) community should consider leaders like Ambedkar as their god, not the traditional Hindu deities.”
He also said at another event,
“Chanting Lord Ram’s name won’t change anything. Real power lies in the temple of governance (government), and Dr. Ambedkar is sitting there.”
BJP’s Strong Reaction
The BJP strongly condemned Saroj’s statement. Party spokesperson Manish Shukla said,
“He insulted Hindu faith, gods, and saints like Tulsidas with disgusting language, all under Akhilesh Yadav’s direction.”
He also blamed leaders like Owaisi and Akhilesh Yadav for creating communal tension and trying to divide Hindus based on caste.
“Akhilesh is doing this as part of a political conspiracy. If he has five MPs in his family, why don’t they use this kind of language? It shows this is all a planned move by him,” Shukla alleged.
Conclusion
The remarks by Indrajeet Saroj have added fuel to the political fire, especially during a sensitive time. Both SP and BJP leaders are now locked in a war of words, and this controversy may continue to impact the political atmosphere in the coming days.
