Who Can Stop the Russia-Ukraine War? Putin Mentions India, Also Talks About China and Brazil

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has talked about peace talks with Ukraine, which is a sign of hope. On Thursday, September 5, President Putin said that countries like China, India, and Brazil could play a role in mediating peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.

Was There a Previous Agreement?

Putin revealed that during the first week of the war, there was a preliminary agreement between Russian and Ukrainian negotiators. He said, “There was an initial agreement between Russian and Ukrainian negotiators in Istanbul, but it was never implemented. This preliminary agreement can still serve as a basis for future talks.”

Putin Criticizes Ukraine

According to a report by Reuters, while Putin showed a willingness to start peace talks with Ukraine, he also criticized Ukraine. He said, “The Ukrainian military’s infiltration in western Russia’s Kursk region aimed to slow down Russia’s progress in Donbas, but they failed. Ukraine’s actions weakened its army on other fronts.”

When Did the War Start?

The war between Russia and Ukraine began in February 2022. Both countries have suffered significant losses in terms of lives and property. Recently, Russia launched two missiles on Ukraine, resulting in many deaths. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also confirmed the attack.
