Glenn Maxwell has been an important player for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the past few seasons. His aggressive batting and useful bowling have helped the team in tough situations. However, his performance in IPL 2024 was disappointing, and now it seems likely that RCB might release him before IPL 2025. Here are four reasons why RCB might let go of Maxwell in the upcoming IPL mega auction:

1. Poor Bowling Performance:
After struggling with the bat last season, there were hopes that Maxwell would perform well with the ball. However, he managed to take only 6 wickets and had an economy rate of over 8, meaning he couldn’t control the runs either.

2. Bad Performance in IPL 2024:
Maxwell has been a key part of RCB’s middle order, but last season his batting was not up to the mark. He scored only 52 runs in 10 matches, which is his worst performance in IPL history. This poor form has made it hard for RCB to rely on him.

3. Limited Retention Spots:
RCB has several important players like Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Will Jacks, and Faf du Plessis that they need to retain. This leaves little room for Maxwell in the team. Additionally, spending a large amount to buy Maxwell again might not be a good move for the team.

4. Social Media Hints:
Recently, Glenn Maxwell unfollowed RCB on Instagram, which could be a sign that he might part ways with the team. While this isn’t solid evidence, it suggests that Maxwell’s future with Bangalore is uncertain.

These factors suggest that Glenn Maxwell might not be part of the RCB squad in IPL 2025.
