Heavy Rain Alert in 8 Districts Including Indore, Bhind, and Ratlam: Weather Department’s Latest Update

The rainy season continues in Madhya Pradesh as the weather system remains active. Heavy rains are pouring down in the Malwa-Nimar region. The weather department has issued a heavy rain alert for today, Tuesday, September 3, in 8 districts of the Malwa-Nimar region.

According to the weather department, a new weather system will become active on September 5, bringing more heavy rains to the state.

Today, the weather department has issued a heavy rain alert for 8 districts, including Alirajpur, Jhabua, Barwani, Khargone, Indore, Bhind, Ratlam, Dhar, and Dewas. On Monday, many districts in the state experienced heavy rain. Due to the heavy rainfall in Bhopal, the gates of Kaliyasot Dam, Kerwa, and Bhadbhada Dam had to be opened. Similarly, in Narmadapuram, 3 gates of Tawa Dam were opened up to 4 feet.

Rainfall Slightly Below Normal

Due to the heavy rainfall this season, the state has almost reached its normal rainfall quota by September 3. The state is only 2.5 inches short of the normal rainfall figure. So far, 35 inches of rain has been recorded, while the normal figure is 37.5 inches. Mandla and Seoni have received the most rain in the state.

Mandla has recorded 47 inches of rain, and Seoni has received 45 inches. Rewa has had the least rainfall, with 23 inches.

Rainfall in Different Parts of Madhya Pradesh

Mandla is currently the district with the most rainfall in the state, recording 47.19 inches of rain so far, which is 7 inches more than normal. Similarly, Seoni has received 46.07 inches, Chhindwara 42.64 inches, Sidhi 42.55 inches, Narmadapuram 42.41 inches, Sheopur 41.98 inches, Dindori 41.71 inches, Raisen 41.52 inches, Sagar 40.83 inches, and Anuppur 39.26 inches of rain.
